2010 will come to an end in just a few short hours, and we are just in time with our annual top 10 list of the most-watched Gear Live video episodes. Over the past year, as expected, there was a bunch of Apple gear that made the list, but Microsoft gets the top two spots with our Xbox 360 dashboard tour, and the an unboxing of the new Xbox 360 slim. Also getting an honorable mention is the Samsung Galaxy Tab and the Popcorn Hour Popbox, among others.

If you’re like me and were really looking forward to purchasing the cheaper, less hard drive-y Xbox 360 S for $200, then you may want to think twice. While the price tag is very attractive, purchasing one with a hard drive from the get go will cost you $30 less than buying the low end model and then upgrading to hard drive space later. Having a lot of hard drive space is essential for those looking to purchase many of their games and movies through games on demand and the Zune marketplace. Things can get messy quickly when you have to think out of the box to fit all your favorite downloads onto your memory impaired console. But if your’re content with only having 4GB of internal memory, and constantly switching out flash drives, then by all means don’t pass up the $200 console. The 250GB hard drive is currently on the Gamestop website, and is popping up in Gamestop stores around the country.

When Microsoft announced the new Xbox 360 S at E3 2010, there were more questions than answers. Why release a new console? Is it just slimmer than the original Xbox 360? Should current Xbox 360 owners upgrade to the newer model? Well, we were able to get our hands on the new slim Xbox 360, and we aim to answer all those questions in this episode. We compare the new Xbox 360 up against the original model and run down all the various changes in the external appearance, the back panel connectors, and some of the internals. Microsoft announced the new Xbox 360 S last week at E3, and we were able to get our hands on one soon after to give you a look at all the goodness. As a refresher, the newly redesigned Xbox 360 is 35% thinner than the original, and features a glossy black exterior. It ships with a 250GB hard drive that’s been redesigned to fit into the new shape of the console, and it drops the memory card slots. Even better, it comes with built-in 802.11g/n Wi-Fi, so there is no need for any sort of external dongle accessory anymore. Hit the video for all the rest, but just know that you can pick up the new Xbox 360 now for $299.
